Polygamy
I'm reading "Escape" by Carolyn Jessop which is one woman's account of her experience within the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in which polygamy is the norm. I've also been watching on the news lately about the Warren Jeffs trial...Warren Jeffs is the current prophet in the FLDS community Carolyn Jessop escaped with her 8 children from in 2003.
Polygamy is illegal in all of the United States, though it is still practiced, mostly by the FLDS, in Utah The question came to mind whether or not polygamy is legal in other count
In 1890 the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the mainstream Mormon Church, denounced polygamy...it is still practiced by the FUNDAMENTALIST Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Three Forms of Polygamy:
>>Polygyny - one man & multiple wives
>>Polyandry - one woman & multiple husbands
>>Group Marriage - multiple husbands & multiple wives
