Texting

So my dad made a good point the other day at dinner. We somehow got on the topic of texting (maybe because my sister barely put her phone away long enough to eat with us....its pretty crazy...she's a texting & facebook maniac!! I still love her haha. just stating a fact) ANYWAYS so he was like what if texting was invented first. All you could do was type messages and send them back and forth with each other. And THEN a few years down the road phone calls were now possible...where you could actually call someone and hear their voice on the other line. You could hear their tone of voice...you could tell emotion in a way you couldn't with texting...and you would have that person's full attention. People would go nuts....no one would even want to text anymore. It's just an interesting thought. I mean I like texting...I text everyday...HOWEVER I think that texting can also be a negative thing because it allows you an easy way out - if cancelling on someone you don't actually have to tell them to your face...it allows you to talk to however many people you want to at a time...could be good...could be bad. who knows? Messages can be misinterpreted...and I don't know it just makes everything much more impersonal. So I'm thinking about doing an experiment. What if I didn't text for a whole week? What if I called people instead? I'm considering it. I've already called a few people instead of texting. It was nice. haha. I'll keep ya posted on this one.

Good movie YOU should see -- "America" with Rosie O'Donnell. SO GOOD. It's about this kid (his name is America) and he's in foster care...just about his struggle going from a broken family to a broken foster care system and this counselor tries to get through to him. just watch it. I'm not good at summaries.
