Alpha

One of the campus ministries, The Green Room, is doing a series called "Alpha." It's going to be about dealing with the tough questions and so I guess their theme question is - "If God exists, what would you ask him?" They have a number to text in questions...here's a few I sent in. I plan to continue going to this ministry for the next few weeks. Each week they're showing a 20ish minute video (this week's look at the question "Who is Jesus") and then discussion afterwards. So, we'll see if they get to any of my questions. I sent in questions at the Vine Q&A and they were never answered so hopefully I'll have better luck this time :) Not that these questions really can be answered and just explained away but just to have them addressed and brought into a discussion would be good...

>>What would Jesus think about the Christianity of today? Perhaps what we have today is never what he intended...is there a danger in making our faith such an individualized thing...has it become all about us?

>>Why is war acceptable within Christianity when the Bible explicitly says to love your enemies?

>>Where in the Bible does it speak against sex before marriage?

>>I think it's important to be knowledgable about other religions...if Jesus is the truth then this should only make my faith stronger...Can we discuss other religions in this study? If we claim Christianity is the only truth...shouldn't we have an understanding of the other religions before we say they are wrong...Especially when going on mission trips and evangelizing to people who believe different things...It's absolutely crucial to understand where they are coming from, what they believe before we try and tell them they are wrong.

>>If it all comes down to faith and the existence of God cannot be completely proven...how do we know which religion is true? Once we get into this realm of faith, where nothing can be proven/there is no solid evidence, how do we discern truth? How do we choose Christianity over Islam or Buddhism or Judaism?
